11 Gift Ideas for Moms who Love to Cook

Mother’s Day is a day to show Mom some extra love and appreciation. If your Mom loves to cook like I do, here are some gift ideas she’ll love.

1.  Does your mom love trying fun, new recipes? How about giving her a cook book from a different culture to try?

2.  Culinary Gadgets: A basket filled with kitchen gadgets is a useful idea for any mom. Think of things that your mom does over and over in the kitchen. Is there a tool or some technology that would help her save time during meal preparation? What about a tool that she might only use a few times a year but would love to have for special recipes?

3.  A nice set of dish towels and matching oven mitts can brighten any kitchen and mom will love the idea too!

4.  How about some art for the kitchen? Add some culture to your kitchen with fun, cooking themed art. Mom will think of you every time she sees it.

5.  A personalized apron is a special item Mom can use and display. You can order a printed one online, or craft one using kids’ art or even the handprints of little ones.

6.  Plant Mom an herb garden. If you don’t have a lot of space outside, you can plant a container garden. If you have large cans around the house, such as coffee cans, use them as planters and create your very own tin can herb garden.

7.  How about making Mom a special box to hold all her favorite recipes? You can help her write them down on index cards then help her organize them in the box. This special memento is great family keepsake that can be handed down from generation to generation.

8.  A basket of exotic spices or unusual spices will brighten Mom’s day and the whole family’s taste buds! (Maybe these spices can go with a cookbook??)

9.  Put together a cookie mix in a jar and present it to Mom decorated with a bright, festive ribbon. Mom will love the thought and maybe you can help her make a yummy batch of cookies!

10.  Coordinated storage containers are helpful in the kitchen so check out what the local kitchen store is carrying.

11.  Couple’s Cooking Class: Mom would love taking a class with Dad. Not only will they learn great skills, but it’s a fun date night idea too.

The trick to finding the perfect Mother’s Day gift for the cooking enthusiast is to pay attention. Watch her when you are shopping together, listen to her when she is talking with you and then take that information and create the perfect gift for your mother this year.
