Kids in the Kitchen: Kids Learn to Cook and Make Healthy Choices!

Junior League of Collin County

presents Kids in the Kitchen

Kids in the Kitchen is a national initiative of the Associate of Junior Leagues International, developed in 2006 to address the growing issue of childhood obesity and poor nutrition. The goal of the program is to teach kids and their families about making healthy nutritional choices and adopting an active lifestyle.

Each year, Kids in the Kitchen hosts a FREE family fun day with co-sponsor, Children’s Medical Center, and kids get to cook and learn about how to make healthy choices. Since kids can’t do it alone, parents can participate in the learning process too!

At the upcoming Kids in the Kitchen event on March 31st, families can enjoy the following:

  • Meet Sunny Sinclair from The Biggest Loser
  • Local mascot parade
  • Cooking demonstrations by instructors at Le Cordon Bleu
  • Stage performances
  • healthy snacks
  • physical activity breaks
  • Vendor booths set up and filled with resources and information that support healthy living

Kids in the Kitchen will be on March 31st from 10am to 1pm at the Children’s Medical Center in Plano (Legacy Campus). Get more information on the Junior League of Collin County website, the JLCC Facebook page or follow JLCC on Twitter.
