Total Lunar Eclipse
At 2:06 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15th, the Moon will enter the sunset-colored shadow of Earth, producing a total eclipse of the Moon. This is often referred to as a “blood moon” because the face of the Moon turns sunset-red for up to an hour or more as the eclipse slowly unfolds.
The event will be visible from Australia, New Zealand, and all of the Americas: visibility map. It’s so bright, even observers in light-polluted cities will have no trouble enjoying the show. If cloud cover gets in the way, you can check out the eclipse live on the web presented by the Coca-Cola Science Center at Columbus State University in Georgia.
