New Teen Workshop July 28: Helping Teens Find their Passion!

North Texas Kids is super excited to announce a new workshop for teens and young adults. As a mom of a teen myself and a former high school teacher, I believe there is a huge need for a program like this. I wish someone had helped me find my passion and purpose in my teen years instead of searching until my 40s. Don’t you?

Succeed on Purpose™ has teamed up with Generation And to develop a revolutionary approach to equip high school and college-age students with the tools necessary to live a life full of passion and purpose.

We asked Generation And co-founder Shree Moffett to tell us a little about this program and why she is so passionate about helping today’s youth.

NTK: Shree, tell us a little about WHY you have created this program.

I was a young adult with no clarity of what I wanted to do or who I was supposed to be. I had left college because I was unhappy and didn’t believe I was supposed to be there. I was searching. A friend invited me to a conference and I reluctantly went. The speaker talked about the importance of knowing what had been put on the inside of me. She was speaking to the very question I was asking. I was locked in. I was hooked. At some point while she was talking, I no longer saw her. Instead, I saw myself in her place. That frightened me. I had never experienced anything like this. It was then that I saw for the first time that my life had meaning. The room that day was full to capacity. I don’t know how many lives where changed, but mine was. Everything changed that day.

I am a firm believer in paying-it-forward. I believe everyone can know their purpose in life and live that purpose with satisfaction. I believe there are young people out there like I was: looking for answers and dissatisfied with what they see around them and what they have experienced.

This is the generation that wants it ‘All.’ They want the ‘And.’ They have watched their parents have a career, but no passion about that career. Or, they were passionate about their career, but not the company they worked for. This generation believes that you could and should have both: passion for your job/career and like the people you work with. This generation will not choose because they don’t know if A or B is the better choice. Or, they don’t want to choose between A or B. They want both A AND B.

NTK: Why did you create Generation And?

Generation And was established because we believe having it ‘All’ begins with Purpose. There is no greater gift in life than to know why you were born. It’s the question we all ask at some point: ‘Why am I here?’ That’s a question of purpose. It’s a good question. It’s the right question. When the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. Generation And’s flagship program, The Discovery Workshop is designed to end the abuse.

NTK: What is the Discovery Workshop?

The Discovery Workshop is revolutionary in that it helps high school and college age students discover their Purpose, live that purpose through their Passions and establish a Plan to get there. It will be 3 hours of high interaction! We welcome teens to join us for one of our upcoming pilot programs on July 28, August 11 or September 15 from 11am to 2pm.

NTK: How can teens and parents find out more or sign up?
