MDHA provides innovative, data-driven solutions to prevent and end homelessness in Dallas and Collin counties.

The 2013 walk is dedicated to solving family homelessness. More families than ever have become homeless because of foreclosures and job losses in recent years. Dallas schools had more than 2,500 homeless students last school year. Thousands of children across North Texas are living in shelters, cars, motels and other temporary places. The nonprofit Alliance and its partners have developed more than 2,000 homes for people with disabilities in recent years. That has led to a 66 percent reduction in chronic homelessness in Dallas County!  The Alliance provides the leadership needed to solve homelessness through planning, advocacy and data management.
