Cheesy Buffalo Chicken Dip: Perfect for Your Next Football Watching Party!
by Liz Mangelsdorf
Try this cheesy, hot Buffalo Chicken Dip at your next party.
I refuse to believe that I am an “a-typical woman” because I love watching football. I know that there are lots of woman out there that are with me on this and are a sports fan thru and thru. With that said January means College Bowl games and NFL playoffs. There is nothing better than a gathering with friends and/or family to watch a good game of football on a big screen TV. But, no football party is complete without some super yummy snacks.
We are invited to friend’s house for a playoff game and will bring this new recipe that I found on Pinterest (my favorite new obsession). Follow me at http://pinterest.com/dallasduck/
I took a few liberties with quantities and my results were great! When I got to the party and I set out the dip and chips, one of the guys said , “Is that the buffalo chicken dip made with Frank’s Hot Sauce ?” He had seen it on Facebook , of course! And apparently there is an entire website (http://www.buffalochickendip.com) AND Facebook page dedicated to Buffalo Chicken Dip. Who knew ? Well, not me – until now ! Definitely adding this to one of my go-to appetizers for the football season.
Here’s what you need:
3 cups (24 oz) Cooked and shredded chicken
(*use rotisserie or canned chicken to save time)
8 oz cream cheese
8 oz ranch dressing
1 ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
8 oz Buffalo Wing Sauce/Hot Sauce (I used Franks Hot Sauce)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix well-softened cream cheese, ranch dressing, hot sauce and 1 cup of the shredded cheese until well blended. (I used my handheld mixer on low for about 1 minute)
- Fold in chicken to this mixture
- Pour into 8×8 square pan
- Sprinkle with remaining ½ cup of cheese
- Bake for 30 minutes, until hot and bubbly
