Dallas Architecture Forum and AIA Dallas Lecture featuring Julie Snow and the 2011 Ken Roberts Architectural Drawing Competition Awards
November 16, 2011; 7:30 p.m.
The Dallas Architecture Forum and Dallas Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, in partnership with the Dallas Museum of Art, present Minneapolis based Architect, Julie Snow. Snow’s studio-based practice is known for undertaking diverse projects and work that is characterized by consistently refined detail, lightness and spatial clarity. The practice has been recognized locally and nationally, winning numerous awards. Winners of the Ken Roberts Architectural Drawing Competition Awards will be announced preceding the lecture. Tickets can be purchased at the door before the lecture.

Horchow Auditorium. Tickets $20 for general admission, $10 for DMA and AIA members, and $5 for students (with ID). Free for DAF members. The Dallas Architecture Forum provides a continuing and challenging public discourse on architecture and urban design in—and for—the Dallas area. Explore the urban themes in Jean Paul Gaultier’s work with “sidewalk” performers, films, tours, DJs, and more. Join Oak Cliff artists and organizations as they create a spectacle inside and outside the Museum.

Oil and Cotton Creative Exchange Site-Specific Art Installation
November 18, 2011; 6:00 – 10:00 p.m.
Oil and Cotton will present an installation of contemporary art and domestic craft. Guests may try spinning and weaving with June Covington, who will share her expertise on domestic and fiber arts history. Crisman Liverman will perform his dress, an interactive dance party for museum-goers to enter, participate, and behold. View art by Rebecca Carter, including her delicate threaded text pieces created specifically for this event. Fleischner Courtyard and Concourse. Included in general admission.

Late Night Lecture
Jean Paul Gaultier: His Life and Times
November 18, 2011; 7:00 p.m.
Dr. Valerie Steele, Director and Chief Curator of the Museum of Fashion Institute of Technology, will discuss the work of Jean Paul Gaultier and compare it to that of other designers who were part of a new generation that emerged in the 1980s. Horchow Auditorium. Included in general admission.

Late Night Special Event
Révéler La Rebelle
November 18, 2011; 8:00 p.m.
Experience this unique multimedia fashion concert by Shanghai 5 that will “reveal the rebel” with a Gaultier fashion show, video clips, and music inspired by the work of Jean Paul Gaultier. Atrium. Included in general admission.

Outdoor Late Night Film
The Fifth Element
November 18, 2011; 9:30 p.m.
The strange universe of the 23rd century is dependent on the discovery of the fifth element. Starring Bruce Willis and Milla Jovovich, with costumes by Jean Paul Gaultier, this film is a timeless story about love and survival and good versus evil. Ross Avenue Plaza. Included in general admission.

Late Night Film
Truth or Dare
November 18, 2011; 10:00 p.m.
Jean Paul Gaultier was the fashion designer for Madonna’s 1990 Blond Ambition Tour, and filmmaker Alek Keshisian was allowed complete access, both on stage and backstage, during the tour. The result is Truth or Dare, a fascinating look at one of contemporary music’s true phenomena. Horchow Auditorium. Included in general admission.

Late Night After Hours Music Showcase
Beauxregard

Families are invited to sketch from original works of art. All supplies are provided.
