Family Fun Walk this Sunday to Support Lung Cancer Awareness
Medical City Dallas Hospital supports the Free to Breathe National Walk
Please join us on Sunday, November 4th at 1:00p.m. for our 2 mile Family Fun Walk supporting Free to Breathe and lung cancer awareness. Stick around for the free family party after the walk and meet Zoe the Clown at 1:15pm. There will also be face painting, a hula hoop contest, refreshments, prizes for kids and more!
Funds raised from Free to Breathe events support National Lung Cancer Partnership’s vital mission of decreasing deaths due to lung cancer, and helping patients live longer and better, through research, awareness, and advocacy.
The Family Fun Walk is two miles, and it will start and end at a trail across the street from Medical City Children’s Hospital. Walkers meet in Medical City atrium. The most convenient parking is in the lot across from the Children’s Tower. Dogs are welcome on the walk, but they aren’t allowed inside the hospital, which is where the family party will take place.
There is no deadline to register for this event. You can even register at Medical City Children’s Hospital on race day. Registration fee is $15 per adult. Kids 18 and under don’t have to pay unless they want a t-shirt.
Payments can be made at the event by cash, credit card or check. Payments can also be made online by clicking the Make a Donation to Medical City Dallas Hospital / The National Lung Cancer Partnership tab. The money will go to the National Lung Cancer Partnership.
Helping those affected by lung cancer is a high priority and we need your support to make a difference in the movement to defeat this disease. Lung cancer claims more lives than breast, prostate, colon, liver, kidney and melanoma cancers COMBINED, making it the clear leader among cancer deaths in America. Over 440 lives are lost to this unpredictable disease EACH DAY. The Free to Breathe event that Medical City Dallas is participating in will raise awareness of the disease and funding for vital research.
Many thanks for your support! If you know of someone else who would like to participate, please forward them this link!
