Free Children’s Clothing Swap in Plano
Dr. Amy Wood and Gifts From Moms Project is organizing a free children’s clothing swap Oct 17, 9-11 a.m. at 2301 W. Parker Rd Plano. Swap organizers are hoping to match families who need clothing with families that have clothing that might be too small. “This is a great opportunity for mothers that are cash strapped to get some cute new duds for free,” said Stephanie Ward Founder of Gifts For Moms Project, an organization that provides Christmas gifts and referrals services for single mothers. Event organizers are asking parents to drop off gently used clothing for boys and girls newborn to 14 years old, at Wellness Solutions at 2301 W. Parker Rd in Plano, during Thursday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p. m. and Friday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct 15-16. Clothing needs to be clean, and unwrinkled. Parents are welcome to bring toys and other items to the swap. Dr. Woods, owner of Wellness Solution Chiropractor, came up with the idea for the swap after swapping clothing with friends for the past 2 years. “I have never had to buy clothing for my daughter,” she said, “So, I thought this would be a great thing to do for other mothers.” There is no cost to participate in the swap, event organizers ask that participants send an e-mail with the sizes that they are bringing to Stephanie@stephaniestips.com, to insure there are enough choices in all sizes. All clothing left over from the swap will be donated to local charities. For more information call 214 774-2194 or 214 862-5581.
