Handmade Birthday Banner
My children are so very lucky, they have both sets of grandparents living in the same city as we do. I did not have that kind of connection with my grandparents, so for me I feel that it is not only necessary, but important that my children have an active relationship with their grandparents.
Mia and Carson have grandparent days each week, my mom now aka Mae Mae is very crafty. The kids are always coming home with some fun project that they worked on at her house. These handmade banners festive and very easy for preschoolers to help make. Let them be creative!
This is a birthday banner they made for their dad’s birthday last month.
Foam shapes, Ribbon, Pipe Cleaners, Stamps/Ink Pad, Foam shaped stickers, Glue Stick, Hole Punch, Scissors
Use 13 foam pieces. Stamp the letters to make the word HAPPY BIRTHDAY, using one letter on each foam piece. Decorate them with stickers, glitter, and other stamps.
Punch Holes in the foam pieces and attach one to the other using colored pipe cleaners (insert and twist top) in order of Happy Birthday. Tie ribbon on the H and the Y pieces in order to hang.
They have also made ones for other holidays. We have one hanging now in the den for Halloween. These are so simple, make one for every holiday! Who doesn’t love a handmade holiday decoration from your child ?!

These are great! On the Halloween banner, are the faces drawn on?
I certainly have talented grandchildren, don’t i!!!!!?

@Mina, the faces on the Halloween banner are cut out of black foam and glued on to the pumpkin!
