Project Mom Conference is Coming to Dallas!
Project Mom Shares Preview of Second Event in North Texas!
Katie Hamilton, wife of Josh Hamilton, Opens Up on Parenting and Family
Project Mom, the only national conference dedicated to educating and equipping today’s moms, announced today a preview of its upcoming stop in Dallas next month.
Project Mom hosts one-day events to give women the opportunity to hear from experts and real moms on topics such as parenting, discipline, nutrition, money and finances as well as hobbies such as photography, party planning and fitness. Project Mom will bring its rejuvenation and fun to moms at the Courtyard Dallas Allen at the John Q Hammons Center (210 E. Stacy Rd, Allen) on Saturday, April 28.
“We are so excited for our Dallas event in April after a wildly successful kickoff with over 400 moms in Fort Worth last month,” said Cassy Lawson, founder of Project Mom. “Moms are going to love hearing Katie Hamilton as she is so relatable and ‘real.” Although she’s the wife of a man famous for hitting it out of the park, Katie is just as grounded as they come.”
Katie Hamilton, mother of four and wife of Texas Rangers’ Josh Hamilton, will be in the featured Q&A session on Saturday afternoon sharing the advice and inspiration she’s learned in her role as mother. Katie shared the following insights with the Project Mom team in preparation for her keynote session:
Parenting Style – “We’re definitely firm, we’ve got rules and are very consistent in our discipline. But we’re also very affectionate in actions and words and make sure we tell them many, many times a day that we love them. We use lots of words of affirmation.”
Mentors & Role Models – “When I finally started ‘getting it’ in my early 20’s, I realized that people who are older and more experienced than I am really do have more wisdom. I made enough mistakes on my own, so if I can avoid making them now, I do. And I want my kids to feel comfortable seeking wisdom from adults and other godly women and people in their lives.”
Typical Day – “There is no typical day for us, but during baseball season it’s a little more structured for us. We think it’s really important to have dinner as a family so we’ll go home and eat together when we can, no matter how late it may be. We eat and go to bed after midnight most nights. The kids are used to that.
Spring Training – “During spring training, we all pack up and go as a family to Arizona where we rent a house and homeschool the girls. It’s just a sweet time for the family.”
The Project Mom day is jam-packed with upbeat keynotes and breakout sessions, a promenade of shopping vendors and breaks for socializing and meeting new friends. Other speakers at the Dallas event include:
- The Crock Pot Girls: Jenna Marwitz and Nicole Sparks—A growing phenomenon, the Crock Pot Girls, who originally created their Facebook page for their mom’s group, leaped in popularity grabbing 1.3 million “likes” in 2 months as they began sharing recipes for the slow cooker. The Crockin’ Girls have their first cookbook coming out this spring.
- Sandra Hanna, The Smart Cookies— Bestselling author and host of The Smart Cookies TV on Halogen Network, Sandra’s financial savvy at www.smartcookies.com has been described as “Weight Watchers for your money.” She will be leading the session, “Teaching your Kids Common Cents.”
- Lisa Lloyd, Actor—Professional actor, speaker and mother, Lisa performs and speaks for numerous organizations and churches. Her acting credits include “Prison Break,” “Young and the Restless,” and “Bold and Beautiful” as well as numerous commercials.
Tickets for the one day event are $49 with a Friday night extended package available for $79. Tour details including schedules and breakout session topics along with event registration are available at www.projectmom.com. Companies and organizations interested in reaching moms are encouraged to contact the Project Mom team before April 18 for exhibitor information.
