Mayor’s Back to School Fair Friday, August 4th

Free event to provide school supplies and other services for qualifying Dallas school children

A one-stop shop for all the back-to-school basics, the 21st-annual Mayor’s Back To School Fair will take place Friday, August 4, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m., at the Centennial Building at Fair Park. The fair will offer free health, dental and visions screenings, free haircuts, numerous services, entertainment and more. 

The Mayor’s Back to School Fair is free and open to families with school-aged children (pre-K through 12th grade) who reside in the City of Dallas or attend Dallas ISD schools and meet eligibility requirements.  If you missed pre-registering, walk ups are welcome the day of the event.

Eligible families can get free school supplies at the Mayor’s Back to School Fair. Recipients of school supplies must be public school children grades Pre-K–12th grade who reside in the City of Dallas or attend a Dallas ISD school; and who meet eligibility requirements.

Parking and Onsite Transportation

  • Parking at Fair Park will be free for the Mayor’s Back to School Fair on Friday, August 4.
  • Participants can enter through Gate 5.
  • A number of trams will be running within Fair Park near Gate 5 transporting families from Second Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue. Family members will be dropped off at the event entrance located at the Centennial Building …. and picked up at the end of the Fair (at the school supply distribution exit doors) and returned to their parking lots and bus stops.
