NTHEN Homeschool Conference Brings Families Together to Learn, Grow, and Network

The North Texas Home Educators’ Network (NTHEN) has announced the dates and a new location for the 2012 Summer Homeschool Conference and Bookfair. The 17th annual event will be July 27-28 at the Waxahachie Convention Center in Waxahachie, Texas.

The annual homeschool event attracts families from all over Texas, as well as from Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, and New Mexico. Past conference attendance has ranged from 1,800 to 3,000 current and prospective homeschooling parents and students.

This year’s event will include more than 35 workshops and teaching sessions, approximately 75 exhibitors and a fun and engaging children’s program for youngsters aged two to 12. Attendees can purchase books, multimedia, curriculum, supplies, and services for all subjects, ranging from art to English, math to science, and history to foreign languages.

“Texas is home to nearly 200,000 homeschoolers,” said Stephen Lunsford, president of NTHEN. “This conference provides a time for parents and students to come together to learn about the latest educational tools, products, and services customized for homeschoolers. It also offers an abundance of opportunities for networking and fellowship with other homeschool families.”
