One of the things that I love about being the publisher of North Texas Kids is getting to review great books and products! This one arrived in the mail this week and I have been waiting for a few minutes to look it over. I am so pleased to share it with you here.

Here is the official description of the book from the DK website (by the way, I am a huge fan of DK books, make sure to check out their amazing offerings if you are not familiar with them. Great line of non-fiction books for kids):

“Everyone eats, but not everyone eats well. From main dishes to quick snacks, My Favorite Recipes addresses this problem with more than 40 carefully chosen recipes from children’s cooking guru Annabel Karmel that will feed the whole family while giving children the chance to get mixing and get messy in the kitchen!

Annabel Karmel is a leading author on cooking for children and has written more than 15 books, which are sold all over the world. Her recipes have been featured in the pages of Scholastic Parent & Child, and on such websites as BabyCenter.com and SesameStreet.com to name a few. She’s appeared on NBC’s Today Show and on countless radio and TV shows across the U.S.

I fell in love with this adorable cookbook. One of the things I liked most for kids is that it has a built-in stand so that your kids can place it on the counter and easily read the recipes. It has beautiful photographs and easy-to-follow recipes. The best part, all the recipes are kid-friendly and your kids will love making them with you.

My daughter and I love to cook together on the weekends. Our biggest challenge is usually what to make. How exciting to have a whole set of new ideas from Annabel Karmel. I think for lunch today we will try the Little Pita Pizzas and Caesar Salad. She is having a play date with her friend Logan, so this will be fun for both of them.

Watch for my next post with photos and the recipes!

Make sure to visit Annabel Karmel’s website, she has great recipes, especially if you are feeding a baby at home. She even has a new iPhone app. Check it out here: http://www.annabelkarmel.com/
