Superhero 5K and Family Fun Run
Dress Up Like a Superhero for the benefit of Dallas CASA
by Jennifer Barling
You don’t need super powers to be someone’s hero! Sign up for the all-new Superhero 5K and Family Fun Run benefitting Dallas CASA, and you can help improve the lives of abused and neglected children in Dallas County.
This family-friendly event will take place on April 14, 2012, at Lindsley Park in Dallas. The 1-mile Fun Run begins at 8 am, with the 5K starting at 8:30 am.
This isn’t your typical 5K – participants are encouraged to dress up like their favorite superheroes for a chance to win one of the costume contests! After the race, let your little superheroes-in-training play in the children’s area while you recharge with food and drinks. (Just be sure to stick around for the awards ceremony to see if your super speed paid off.)
Dallas CASA is a non-profit organization that provides judge-appointed volunteers to advocate on behalf of abused and neglected children so they may quickly find safe, permanent homes. With over 1,300 children needing assistance in Dallas County each year, Dallas CASA currently boasts a team of over 500 volunteers.
Even if you don’t have x-ray vision or the ability to leap tall buildings in a single bound, you can still be a superhero by supporting Dallas CASA in their quest to help children in need!
