A new report released today by the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee (JEC) provides an in-depth look at the Great Recession and its toll on working families. The report, entitled “Understanding the Economy: Working Mothers in the Great Recession,” concludes that mothers’ work is vital not only for their families’ economic security, but also for the strength of the American economy as a whole. Rather than opting out of the labor force, mothers increased their labor force participation over the recession.

I was so gung ho about our new program a week ago, read my last blog post for details about the wonderful program my husband and I are participating in with the founders of Living Well Dallas. We were excited to return home to Dallas with our family and kick everything into high gear. Brad and I had spent time doing some good planning for the business and were looking forward to doing some personal planning as well. We were trying to be creative about making change without overwhelming ourselves with everything that needs to get done.
