Mathnasium will host its first annual National TriMathlon Day on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at more than 200 participating centers across the United States (www.mathnasium.com/TriMathlon). Mathnasium of Plano will host the math competition at its learning center location (3115 E. Parker Rd #560). Registration for Mathnasium’s TriMathlon is free and is now open to all students in third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades attending public, private, or home school. The event is intended to create excitement among area students and schools.
Beginning Tuesday, March 2, Vista Ridge Mall will host The American Mall Model Search Experience, which includes a Fashion Show and Talent Contest Extravaganza. Interested individuals can register at stations located throughout the shopping center beginning Tuesday, March 2. Registration will continue until Tuesday, April 13.
What’s wrong with that picture? I just turned 45 years old, I am 45 pounds overweight (poetic justice in those numbers) and my business has been on hold for the first several weeks of the year. If I keep doing what I am doing, I will not be alive in 20 years to play with my grandchildren, grow old with my husband and see my children’s success in their lifetime. And I really want to be here, in a way that I have not focused on before. Maybe it is that big number, 45, which suddenly looks a lot closer to 50 than it ever did before. Maybe it’s just realizing that I am cheating myself. I don’t have the energy or enthusiasm I used to have for anything.
I was so gung ho about our new program a week ago, read my last blog post for details about the wonderful program my husband and I are participating in with the founders of Living Well Dallas. We were excited to return home to Dallas with our family and kick everything into high gear. Brad and I had spent time doing some good planning for the business and were looking forward to doing some personal planning as well. We were trying to be creative about making change without overwhelming ourselves with everything that needs to get done. Jenny, our “inner” organizer is brilliant at helping us to manage the overwhelm and be clear about what we really need.
Then on New Year’s Eve I received a phone call that my beloved stepdad was in the hospital again
