Fabulous Fur-topia of Fun at Deck the Paws Holiday Pet Expo

The organizers of Deck the Paws have put on the ultimate event for pets and their families. Every little detail of this new holiday pet expo in DFW has been executed to allow furbabies and their families to feel comfortable and to leisurely enjoy the many things to see and do. Attendees are walking around with smiles and tails a-wagging, and that’s just the furry ones. Their human counterparts seem relaxed and happy to be able to share this special experience with their furbabies.

As I type this, I’m sitting at the North Texas Kids booth with our wonderful volunteer helpers, enjoying the festive holiday garb sported by all the adorable pups  and folks walking around. This duo won first prize in the Ugly Sweater Contest!
It’s been amazing to see such a huge variety of breeds in one place and they’re all so social with each other! They are also very well behaved animals — quite impressive!
We’ve also had the pleasure of meeting a lot of cats and a few exotic animals too. My kids and I were thrilled when we had the chance to hold 2-week old kittens (courtesy of Texas Pawprints).
How precious is this pup that’s up for adoption from Dallas DoggRRR? So cute! Have to give props to the adoption and rescue groups out here and all over for their effort and dedication helping animals in need. What an amazing group of folks! Kudos to Deck the Paws for organizing the presence of these groups and for hosting this event for the benefit of local non-profits Artists for Animals, DFW Pup Patrol Fans, and Operation Kindness.
Another favorite experience of ours at Deck the Paws was watching the Richardson High School Legacy Choir perform on Saturday. Such a group of superstars!
Speaking of talent, American Idol finalist Trevor Douglas is also performing at the expo this weekend!
Looking for a unique gift? Deck the Paws has a number of vendors with cute items for sale. Check them out.
Be sure to stop by the North Texas Kids booth in the Kids’ Zone. We are having a great time watching the happy, smiley faces of the kids having fun with the holiday crafts and kids activities we have here.
