2012 Spring Fashion Trends in Dallas Ft Worth
Kidville fashion guru, Amy Zicarelli presents:
2012 Spring Fashion Trends
With spring right around the corner, North Texas moms are stocking up on light cotton tops and comfy bottoms for their tiny tots. With the pleasantly warm winter stretching into spring, kids will be playing outside until dusk very soon. With more outside playtime, comes more laundry for parents.
“It’s worth it to invest in a high quality material that will last after many washes and hours of playtime,” Kidville boutique owner, Amy Zicarelli said.
Zicarelli, who is also a mother of two, has an eye for styling the little ones. She travels across the country, finding the most innovative and trendy outfits for her clients at the Kidville boutique, located in the Preston Royal Shopping Center. For the last couple months, she has been scouting spring fashion trends that are on the horizon for children.
“Little Ella is one of our favorite brands and it’s Ella Moss for kids,” Zicarelli said. “We’re one of the exclusive carriers for Little Ella in Dallas.”
She even supports local vendors in the Metroplex who provide Kidville moms with stylish offerings. From True Religion Jeans to Little Ella outfits, The Kidville boutique is a Dallas hotspot for children’s spring fashion.
“We’re carrying some new brands this season, as well as our regular favorites,” Zicarelli said. “Junkfood, Tailgate, Little Rockers and of course Appaman, Tooby-Do and Splendid Littles. We just received a bunch of new items in time for spring.”
With DFW being seen as a Mecca for the fashion-minded human, it’s no surprise designer labels are found on burp cloths and onesies.
“We are a small boutique that gives focus to personal shopping for our clients’ little ones,” Zicarelli said. “We rival Nordstrom & Neiman’s [Neiman Marcus] on our designer brands, carrying unique pieces that are classic and timeless for the playground.”
Many Kidville boutique clients say they feel a comfort and ease when shopping at Kidville. Having one-on-one assistance when selecting clothing is a plus. Zicarelli says customers even come in requesting specific outfits they have spied around town. But the one item she cannot keep on the shelves are the crystal bangle bracelets for girls, ages 2-6.
“These little crystal bangles are by Bary Lin out of New York and we have all different colors for spring,” Zicarelli said. “Every week, we have moms coming in specifically for these bangles and hair clips.”
To be the most fashionable child on the playground this spring requires much more than just the accessories. The bling is simply the icing on the cake. Zicarelli, who just got back from market in New York City, says bubble skirts are huge for girls this spring.
“It’s such a fun and different look than a straight or pleated skirt,” Zicarelli said. “It really brings out the personality in little girls. Fun, bright colors in tunics and rompers are all the rage too.”
Another trend for the little ladies is a flare of sparkle on the clothes too, not just the accessories. The Kidville boutique walls are adorned with several “glitter-inspired” tops and dresses. And of course the fellas have to be styling as well. Kidville is the hub for little boy graphic T’s. Not to mention it is almost pool time and moms will go crazy for the little boy swim trunks.
“First time shoppers love how convenient it is shopping at Kidville,” Zicarelli said. “We literally have clothing for every occasion, from playtime to ‘Sunday best.’ They also love the quality of our clothes and how unique and different the fashion is.”
One other thing parents consider to be a “plus” when shopping at Kidville is several different tasks can be completed at once. Along with the Kidville boutique, educational classes are offered to young children. From “Little Muscles” classes to “Rockin’ Railroad” music with a live band, Kidville is all about high energy, interactive learning. Along with the early education center, Kidville has a hair stylist on site that can provide a haircut in a fun airplane chair. Overall, Kidville makes parents happy and a little less stressed. Having the Kidville boutique right there in the complex makes it easy for parents to pick up staples for their kids, as well as a gift for birthday parties.
“We carry a variety of unique toys and accessories too,” Zicarelli said. “Baby gifts, art sets, dramatic play sets, fun birthday gifts and sunglasses. It’s fun to see what Kidville has to offer this spring and it’s something unique you won’t find in department stores.”
