“Stephanie’s Day” is presented by the Gene and Jerry Jones Family Dallas Cowboys Charities in partnership with the Autism Treatment Center. It will feature interactive fun for children and helpful information for parents. Representatives from various healthcare providers, therapy services, camps, advocacy groups and other organizations will offer information on local resources available for special needs children.
“Stephanie’s Day is all about making meaningful connections,” said CBS 11 and TXA 21 President and General Manager Gary Schneider. “Our goal is to connect parents with the services and resources they need for their children, and also to connect them with other parents who face similar challenges. They can gain a lot of knowledge and strength from each other.”
The event will feature performances by David Chicken, the Mavs ManiAACs and Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey ambassador clowns Kelly and Becky, as well as free activities including face painting, games, music therapy, and more. Scheduled appearances include representatives from the CBS 11 and TXA 21 on-air team, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and the Dallas Mavericks Dancers. Prizes will be provided by the Texas Rangers and Six Flags Over Texas.
This marks the tenth year that CBS 11 and TXA 21 have presented Stephanie’s Day. The event is named in honor of 23-year-old Stephanie Mauldin, the daughter of former CBS 11 and TXA 21 President and General Manager Steve Mauldin. Mr. Mauldin, who is now President and General Manager of KCBS and KCAL television in Los Angeles, now hosts an annual Stephanie’s Day in southern California, as well.
