NATIVE PLANTS & PRAIRIES DAY

Join us for an exciting and Free fun day on the lake April 30th!

The North Texas Master Naturalists will host its third annual Native Plants & Prairies Day on Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, at the Bath House Cultural Center grounds on White Rock Lake.

This event has been enthusiastically received by the community for its focus on Texas flora and fauna, and the use of native plants in home landscapes as disease and drought-resistant alternatives to non-native species. Native plants and grasses have been an important part of Texas history. Birds, animals and insects all depend on these native plants to survive.

The North Texas Master Naturalists (NTMN) are again hosting this FREE family event and it will be more fun than ever! This year we will have Miko the Bison make a live appearance (11:00am – 1:00pm) with his professional Cowboy Rodeo cowgirl, 3 food trucks, the Aztec Dancers, and the popular folk music duo the Ackermans.

There will be over 30 demonstration and information outreach booths, 30 minute wildflower and other walks on the prairie, and a series of speakers giving short talks/lectures of 30 minutes each.

Exhibitors will include Roger Snake Man Sanderson with his reptile friends, raptors, and much more. In addition there will be a raffle with gifts provided by our 13+ sponsors.

Please join us as we celebrate Texas flora and fauna, and the use of native plants in home landscapes as disease and drought-resistant alternatives to non-native species.
