Oktoberfest Fun Run to benefit Wipe out Kids Cancer


Register for Fun Run to Fight Against Childhood Cancer

Join the fight against childhood cancer by running or walking in the 27th annual WOKC Oktoberfest Run for the Children 5K/1M on Saturday, September 22, 2012. This family-friendly event is presented by Tom Thumb and is part of the annual Addison Oktoberfest celebration.  All proceeds benefit Wipe Out Kids Cancer (WOKC), a Dallas-based nonprofit organization founded in 1980 dedicated to raising awareness and funding for pediatric cancer research and to providing hope and support to children with cancer. Online registration is available through midnight, Thursday, September 20. Race Day registration will be available from 7:00 – 8:00 am the morning of the event in the pavilion at Addison Circle Park.

Participants can choose from a 1M Fun Run or a 5K course, and cash prizes will be awarded to the top three 5K male/female, overall and masters’ division winners. Awards will be given in each 5K age category.

Event perks include:

  • Finish Line Celebration with free breakfast, drinks, German beer (21 & older)
  • Awards and entertainment- including a concert by kids’ favorite Eddie Coker.
  • Participants receive one free admission to Addison Oktoberfest on race day
  • The first 500 kids to cross the Fun Run finish line receive a goody bag that includes one free pass for the Talley Carnival rides until 5:00 pm on race day.
