Genealogy Expo: Finding the Lost

Where are you from? It’s a question we ask or hear nearly every day, but at the Genealogy Expo at Frisco Public Library, people can find the actual, in-depth answer. On November 10, from 9 – 3, curious guests can attend presentations in the morning and an afternoon guided research session to learn about their history. The Heritage Association of Frisco and Frisco Public Library are partnering to bring this eye-opening event to the community.

The schedule for this event follows:

8:30 am Come-and-go booths open in the atrium. Tables will have representatives from genealogical societies, area libraries, and the Heritage Association of Frisco.

9 – 10 am My DNA Test is Back – Now What?   Douglas Fugate

10 – 11 am Mini sessions:

10:10 – 10:25 Sentimental Journey—a trip down memory lane   Patti Huff Smith
10:25 – 10:40 Using NewsBank, Search Tips   Sheryl Rascher
10:40 – 10:55 StoryCorps App to Make a Family Database  Victor Chapa
11 – noon Using a Blog, a Personal Website and the Family Search Family Tree to Expand Knowledge of Your Family  Tony Hanson

Noon – 1:30 pm Lunch Break

1:30 – 3:00 pm Volunteers will help attendees with their genealogy research.

No registration is required. There are no fees associated with this event. Guests are welcome to attend the whole day or to come and go as desired.
