We are going to our first Easter egg hunt this weekend and Easter is still a few weeks away. Kids are excited by the colorful Easter egg displays, stuffed Easter bunnies and candy at the local stores. My daughter is digging through closets to find her Easter basket and we are already searching for creative ways to dye and decorate Easter eggs this year.

Easter events in ALLEN

Eggcellent Family Adventure – 03/31/2012 from 09:00 am – 12:00. Free for all ages. Bring your Easter basket and come stroll through Civic Plaza. Kids will visit tables hosted by civic organizations and local businesses where they will be awarded eggs, candy and other goodies. The event would not be complete of course without a visit from the Easter Bunny. There are lots more to enjoy too with great activities like games, crafts, face painters and a bounce house. Easter Funanza – March 31, 2012 @ 9:00 am – 11:30 am. Hugh Smith Recreation Center, 1815 New York Ave, Arlington,TX 76010. Come join us as we celebrate Easter with games, activities and egg hunt. World’s Largest Easter Egg Hunt– Saturday, April 7th, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Mission Arlington hosts our annual easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 11th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This year’s event will be held at the Lockwood center on the southeast corner of Fielder Road and Pioneer pkwy (303).  It will take at least two hours for the children to complete the process of the day. Creative communicators will share the story of Easter with the children. Bouncy houses and games of all kinds cover the field. Food is furnished for free, and then the children hunt for Easter Eggs. All in all, an experience to remember. We need 120,000 plastic eggs for an event of this magnitude. And, we need individually wrapped candy of all kinds to put into the eggs. Individuals, families, and groups of all kinds participate throughout the day. You can help by donating plastic eggs and individually wrapped bags of candy.  You can help make this day a success. Easter Eggstravaganza– April 7th at 9:30 am.  FREE; toddlers – grade 5. Location: Denton Civic Center, 321 E. McKinney St., Denton, Texas.  The fun begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Civic Center with a bounce house and crafts. Then at 10 a.m., participants will be entertained by a free magic show. During the event, we will sell low-priced concessions. Following the magic show, participants will be led from inside the Civic Center to Quakertown Park for a free egg hunt. Underwater Easter Egg Hunt – Parks and Recreation will host its annual Underwater Easter Egg Hunt from 6 to 8 p.m. March 30 at the North Lake Aquatic Center, 5001 N. Funny Bunny Festival – The 25th Annual Funny Bunny Festival will be held Saturday, March 31, from 8:30 a.m. to noon, at Toyota of Lewisville Railroad Park, 1301 Railroad Street. Admission is $1 per person, free for children younger than 3. Visit with the Funny Bunny, play carnival games, enjoy face painting and join in the annual egg hunt. Souvenir photos will be available at a minimal cost. All egg hunts will begin simultaneously in the ballfield areas, divided into age groups. Easter in the Park – Easter in the Park, a free community event open to the public, will take place on Sunday, April 1, 2012 in Southlake Town Square from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Print the Easter Basket Contest Form and bring it to the event for a chance to win a prize!  There will also be a live appearance by Mr. & Mrs. Easter Bunny with photos ops, plus egg hunts for the young ones (ages 2-4), games, and sponsored Golden Egg prizes! On the menu is cotton candy, kettle corn, and water that will be available at no cost.  Bring your Easter baskets, your cameras, and your Easter basket contest form, but please leave pets at home.  Entertainment includes “Magic School” from 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. and “Nana Puddin’”  from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.  The egg hunt schedule is children 2 and under @ 2:30 p.m., children 3-4 @ 3:00 p.m., and children 5 and over will be able to win eggs by playing games and locating those prized golden eggs throughout the park.  For more information, please contact (817) 748-8019.

Spring Eggstravaganza – The Easter Bunny is coming to town!
