Today is National Coffee Day! Top Drink Freebies

With a Starbucks on the corner of nearly every city in the U.S., it’s no surprise coffee consumption is up seven percent over 2011. According to the 2012 National Coffee Drinking Trends Report, coffee has a distinctive advantage over soft drink consumption with a 10-point lead beyond it’s carbonated counterpart.

This news comes on the cusp of National Coffee Day, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 29 and celebrated by some of the most popular cafes and restaurants in the country. The following freebies are just part of the 11-offer list featured on MrFreeStuff.com, so check it out and get your caffeine fix for free this weekend!

7-Eleven

The popular convenience store is getting a head start on the festivities with its second-annual CofFREE Day on Friday, Sept. 28. Get a free 20 oz. coffee between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. at participating stores.

Caribou Coffee

On Saturday, Sept. 29, Caribou Coffee guests can get a small cup of Amy’s Blend for free. The brew is made in honor of Amy Erickson, a former “roastmaster” who was just 33 when she passed away from breast cancer.

Krispy Kreme

The doughnut behemoth is offering a free 12 oz. cup of coffee to patrons on Saturday, Sept. 29. Krispy Kreme fans can also enter to win two bags of free coffee every month for a year during their 75th anniversary celebration.

McDonald’s

East Coast dwellers can score a free small Premium Roast McCafe during the week of Sept. 23-29. Call ahead to confirm your location’s participation.

Starbucks

The Starbucks Runner Reward is not part of National Coffee Day, but offers a great deal all the same. Buy four drinks and get the fifth free through Nov. 12 at participating locations.
