Texas musician Cas Haley headlines Feast-ival 2012 with a performance on the main stage at 7p.m., free to the public. Haley’s style reflects elements of soul, blues, and pop swirling through strong reggae beats. The main stage will also feature live music all day, also free to the public.
The Feast-ival Main Stage will feature live entertainment all day from leading North Texas area bands. The evening will include a street party and street dance and more.
Concessions throughout the event will generate proceeds to benefit The Assistance Center of Collin County. The Assistance Center of Collin County brings carefully qualified and prompt short-term assistance to individuals and families in financial crisis to help them regain self-sufficiency. The ACCC’s discerning programs, guidance and funds are helping stabilize Collin County families’ home economies to fight homelessness, hunger and poverty as well as help protect our entire community from a wave effect of negative impacts. www.theassistancecenter.org
Chefs from top dining destinations in Downtown Plano will be cooking up food for everyone in a Grand Autumn Tasting with culinary creations to reflect the flavors of the season. Feast-ival 2012 attendees will also be able to purchase beer, wine and mixed drinks. Restaurants in the area include Bake Rejoice, The Fillmore Pub, Into My Garden Tearoom, Jorg’s Café Vienna, Kelly’s Eastside, Nee Nee’s Tearoom, Posh Nosh, Urban Crust and 32 Degrees Rooftop Bar, Urban Rio, The Vickery Park, Ye Ole Butcher Shop, and Zanata.
NEW TO FEASTIVAL THIS YEAR. . .THE GREAT PUMPKIN RACE
This year, kids of all ages will be able to show their creativity with ingredients of the season: pumpkins! The Great Pumpkin Race at Feast-ival 2012 will include a race on 15th Street of “mini-vehicles” created with a decorated pumpkin on wheels.
Feast-ival also will showcase some of Texas’ great keepsake automobiles from all eras in a Vintage Car show.
The 2012 Feast-ival is presented by Urban Crust and Urban Rio, the Historic Downtown Plano Association.
