19 Best Patio Dining Restaurants in Dallas Ft Worth

Best Places in DFW to Dine Alfresco

My favorite thing about this amazing spring weather is dining “alfresco”. Perhaps it is my Oregon roots, but I have always been a big fan of the patio dining experience.

A good patio must have a relaxed atmosphere, aesthetically appealing decor and reasonably priced good food and drinks. Since having kiddos 5 years ago, my list has now grown to include kid friendly patios.

My list is broad on purpose to include locations across the Metroplex and to offer a variety of options depending on the kind of outdoor evening you are planning.  Enjoy!

Manny’s in Addison and the Uptown location have good patios.

  • Sarah says:

Twisted Root in Dallas has a great patio area as well!

Is this the best patio list “with your kids”? If so, as the title suggests, why do you add details to several locations as “date night”? I don’t typically take my kids to date night.

Additionally, a few of these places on your list including Love and War and Duke’s tend to have a number of smokers on the patio and they are definitely not kid friendly considering the amount of alcohol most of the patrons consume.

Twisted Root is off SMU Blvd in Dallas. Good patio and definitely kid friendly.

    • D, you are right , thanks for pointing that out. I have changed the tag line in the sub title of the post. At first I was going to do a post on only kid friendly patios, then I realized that it would be fun to add some that are good for date nights, we all could use a night out with our spouse, significant other or friends. Thanks for letting me know there is a Twisted Root down in the Dallas area. We love the 75 and Campbell location.

Just wanted to say, that Nico’s in Carrollton off Frankford and Josey, has a playground on their patio. The adults can relax on the patio and watch the kids play. We love going there!

Cristina’s in mckinney has a great patio too.. plus kids eat free on mondays and tuesdays. Very good food and atmosphere..lovely fountain inside and flower decor outside. Purple cow in fairview’s patio is great and next to a splash fountain with daily music water and light shows. I have not seen smoking at either of these but I am not sure what policy is.

Dallas is the third largest city in Texas. When you think of the best cities in the world to eat, perhaps Dallas does not come to the top of your list, but the city offers a wide variety of quality restaurants that cater to every taste. In fact, Dallas has more restaurants per habitant than any other city in the USA. The density of the restaurants in Dallas is actually bigger than that of New York. The amount of restaurants in Dallas is so big, that it would take a person 13 years to eat in a different restaurant each day. If you have ever wanted to visit food lover’s heaven, then Dallas is your place.

Neighborhood Services Tavern & Grill in Preston Royal has a nice patio with heaters and fans, most of all, they serve the best burgers in Dallas, wood-fired grill, homemade toasted sesame buns, and the fries are fresh cut, never frozen, topped with coarse Kosher salt.
