Buzzing through the air on a warm spring day, honey bees search out the sweetness of a fresh flower.  They dive into the open flower bud as you would a swimming pool full of bubbles, rolling in the pollen, covering themselves from head to toe.  Then they fly off, carrying with them pollen on their back legs to take to another flower.  What would happen if bees disappeared?  Without bees, many flowers, fruits, and vegetables would not reproduce, would not come back the next year.

Spring Cleaning Traditions: Why Do We Clean every Spring?

I don’t know about you, but I found myself very curious about why Spring Cleaning is such a hot topic.  We don’t tend to take our rugs outside and beat them anymore but at my house we do wash winter gear and store it away, wash blankets before storing them for summer and generally try to put winter behind us.

Occasionally I might clean out the pantry in the spring and thanks to Samantha Conner I have some great ideas on how to do this well.

For older children the following is a sleep and relaxation meditation.  It will help them become aware of their bodies as you help them put each part of their body to sleep.

Have your child lie down to make them as comfortable as possible.  Go slowly and speak in a soft, lulling voice as you move down their body from their head to their toes, and begin with the following script:
