It’s Friday in the life of eight young people as they navigate the rough waters of high school. Experience a NEW high-energy musical full of drama, humor, and real-life situations interwoven with the latest discoveries about the mysterious teen brain. Is this your life? Your school? Find out by coming to see the world premiere of Teen Brain: The Musical performed by DCT’s Teen Scene Players playing February 15 – 24, 2013.

DCT’s teen and young adult programming focuses on issues and interests of the underserved teen audience. In response to the many requests for more performance opportunities for teens, last season DCT’s Academy introduced the Teen Scene Players, an advanced acting training course for young adults, with an added level of professionalism by including a public performance. All classes taught in the DCT Academy culminate in a presentation for invited family and friends on DCT’s stages, however, the Teen Scene Players class culminates in a DCT Season Special performance open to the public.

Monster Energy Supercross Invades Cowboys Stadium

Practice and qualifying begins at 12:30 p.m., and the main event begins at 7:00 p.m.

Monster Energy Supercross has a storied history in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with the first-ever supercross race held in Dallas on March 1, 1975. From 1983-2008, Texas Stadium hosted 26 consecutive Monster Energy Supercross races and is regarded as one of the sport’s most historical cities to have hosted the championship. Bodies, DNA Mutations, Heart Dissections, Nano Science and other Kid-Friendly Fun at Sci-Tech Discovery Center this Weekend!

Sci-Tech Discovery Center (Sci-Tech) re-opens Saturday, January 26, 2013 with two brand new exhibits: Bodies in Balance and Putting DNA to Work. Also returning are two long time favorites, Coordination Station and Nano. All of this “Mind-Stretching Fun” is open to the general public at 12 noon on Saturday at the Frisco Discovery Center.

From the day you are born, your body’s systems work hard to stay in balance with each other and to deal with challenging elements you run into in the course of living in a physical world. Your body works persistently and invisibly to keep you healthy. Bodies in Balance includes 24 interactive stations with tools that explore your body’s maze of complex systems and functions.

Plano Symphony Orchestra Sunday Family Series Starts Jan 27th!

2013 Family Symphony Sunday series begins January 27th with Strings!

Strings Concert, part of the Plano Family Symphony Sundays, is a fun, interactive, concert for kids ages 3-10 and their families featuring the String instrument family. Children hear, see and learn about the many different instruments as they interact with the musicians.

There will be children’s activities before the show in the lobby, including the Instrument Petting Zoo, Conductor Station, Storyboard/iPod Station, Coloring Station and Craft Station.
