Holiday Wonder debuts this winter as a new, unforgettable, family-friendly event in Dallas’s Fair Park to celebrate a season of light and magic. The lights switch on Nov. 21 for a festival that runs through Jan. 7 around the historic lagoon at Fair Park in Dallas. Included in this celebration are magical lights, interactive attractions, performances and food from around the world to entertain and delight guests.

Kids love Halloween, and one of the best parts about Halloween (besides the candy, of course) is turning a pumpkin into something cool, crazy or scary. The traditional way to do that is to carve out a face or other neat design, but you can’t hand a kid a sharp knife. So how do you get little ones involved in the creation of their dream pumpkin?

My favorite thing about our amazing Texas weather is dining “alfresco”. Perhaps it is my Oregon roots, but I have always been a big fan of the patio dining experience.

A good patio must have a relaxed atmosphere, aesthetically appealing decor and reasonably priced good food and drinks. Since having kiddos 10 years ago, my list has now grown to include kid friendly patios.
