Director John Doyle’s award-winning revival of The Color Purple powerfully conveys the general culture of subjugation inherent in 1930’s rural Georgia. Amidst a minimally set stage, the cast weaves together the story of young Celie’s journey from despair to personal triumph.

Adrianna Hicks is stunning in her portrayal of Celie, transforming a vulnerable young girl into an empowered woman who rises up from her abusive  circumstances to become an accomplished business woman.

The opening night cast of Outcry Youth Theatre brought to life a high energy, in-depth adaptation by Ken Ludwig of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic adventure Treasure Island, directed by Becca Johnson-Spinos.  At the center of this pirate adventure are Jim Hawkins (Will McDonald) and the infamous Long John Silver (Logan Beutel), supported by an ensemble of talented young actors playing multiple roles.

At the center of this stunning yarn of piracy on the tropical seas are Jim Hawkins, a 14-year-old boy who longs for adventure, and the infamous Long John Silver, who is a complex study of good and evil, perhaps the most famous hero-villain of all time.

Dallas Summer Musicals, Inc. (DSM) and Broadway Across America (BAA) are thrilled to announce the full lineup of Broadway shows coming to Dallas as part of the 2018-2019 season. The full season line up includes many classics like Aladdin, Hello Dolly! and Miss Saigon as well as the hit show Hamilton.
