My husband and I had a chance to have a night out to ourselves. For our date night, we went to see Austin-based Del Castillo perform at The Kessler. Earlier today, I was explaining to someone how inspired I was feeling about the wonderful outpouring of support for our neighbors in Houston and coastal Texas areas. In the course of the discussion, I was reminded that we all deal differently with crisis in our lives. Those impacted by Hurricane Harvey need the basics and financial support for sure, but they also need emotional support, particularly if they have kids. Just imagine how parents must feel having to be displaced from their homes, schools, businesses and jobs, but, on top of that, having to take care of and entertain their kids too.
