Defeat the Label, an international anti-bullying organization, announced today that more than 2 million students, in all 50 states and across 7 continents have already pledged to participate in this year’s Stand4Change Day on Friday, May 3rd.

Stand4Change Day is a worldwide event hosted by Defeat the Label to bring attention to the issue of bullying in our schools. Defeat the Label provides a short lesson plan, student pledge, video and additional resources for educators to share with their students.

Let’s talk today about how to teach kids the importance of being responsible and contributing members of their household and accepting chores that are appropriate. The truth is that for most kids, chores are not fun. Even adults do not necessarily enjoy chores, but at least we realize that if we do not wash the dishes, we will not be eating off of clean plates. Kids, on the other hand, would just use their fingers as utensils and the counter tops as plates!

Spelling practice is getting harder and harder as spring has sprung, yet the grind of school continues. The request to taking time to practice spelling words is being answered with whines and complaints. That is why I am so excited about today’s tutorial on how to make DIY Letter Puppets. Kids Activities Blog knows if you can make spelling practice fun, it will happen!

Making the letter puppets is the first part of the adventure. I enlisted the help of my 7 year old who was excited to participate once he saw paint and googly eyes were involved.
