Kid’s School Papers Piling Up? Create a Holding Tank

Dedicated Storage Space for School Papers

It has been almost two months since school started and by now you probably have piles of school papers on your kitchen counter tops, dining table, or moving from place to place as you try to find them a permanent home.

Help has officially arrived. In my video below, I talk about creating a Holding Tank or dedicated storage space for your child’s papers. The location of the Holding Tank (one per child) should be close to where the papers enter the home and are processed. This could be in the kitchen, mudroom, garage, or living room, making sure that the tank is not so far away that the papers often do not make it to the holding area.

As many of my readers know I am a mom of three boys, and while my youngest is now 17, I am still helping him learn to manage and schedule his life. This process started years ago during his first grade year in elementary school. At that time the school’s PTA provided agendas (much like a paper day planner) for all the students. I truly believe this is an expense every PTA should provide for students throughout their elementary years. It was the first step in teaching our youngster the importance of planning and scheduling his studies and activities.
